Our
season begins in the middle of May
with sharp tugs on our eight foot graphite rods. On the line,
a bright trophy-size Kenai king. The action continues through
June with fish up to 70lbs.
In July, the heavy duty rod bending begins with the average
king weighing 40-60 lbs. Occasionally, a 70-80 lb. hog is landed.
Toward the end of July, while we are all chasing the
world class kings, occasionally the rod will slam toward the
gunnel, and a fresh coho will rocket out of the water. This
signals the start of the Silver Salmon run which will last through
September ending with 16-18 lb. cohos gobbling up your fresh
roe. Once again, we have an extra treat - trophy class rainbow
trout weighing up to 15 lbs.
